01
The first gift was a microscope.
Not a toy. A tool. The pull toward the lab started before there was a career to aim at.
02
High school summers in research labs.
Cardiac research alongside postdoctoral fellows for the American Heart Association. Completed graduate-level laboratory work while still in high school.
03
The path had already been laid.
BS in Biology, University of Memphis. Lab aide at an AP lab. The electron microscopy work from college mapped directly to histotechnology. She was already qualified to sit for the HT(ASCP) exam without additional training.
04
Certified. Then the path no one takes.
Certified via the on-the-job training route. Traveling histotechnologist for nearly a decade. Twenty lab environments, supervision, management. The credential that does not traditionally lead to the director level. It led there anyway.
05
Director of a national AP platform.
155 staff. Up to 2,100 cases per day. A 25,000 sq ft zero-downtime relocation. Enterprise-level change across laboratory systems. And then: The Crenshaw Method.

I know where labs are the same. I know where they're different. That's the lens I bring to every engagement, whether it's a lab type I've run myself or one I'm walking into for the first time.

Our Expertise
01
The Bench
Every 3 to 6 months, a new lab, new team, new workflow. That kind of pressure builds a process so solid it performs regardless of environment. It also builds an instinct for reading a lab's actual state, fast.
"You can't fake fluency in front of a histotech. They know in five minutes."
02
Supervision
Technical credibility that came before the title. Supervision built on having done every step of the work. That foundation changes how a team responds, and how fast problems actually get solved.
"When the team knows you've done the work, the conversation changes."
03
Management
Not managing from above but leading from beside. On the hardest days, that meant sitting down next to the team and working the queue. The trust that builds cannot be bought with a title or a policy.
"I never asked my team to do something I wasn't willing to do myself."
04
Director
Director-level scope means seeing how one lab's problems ripple across an entire organization. The harder skill is getting the enterprise to do something about it.

"I learned to speak lab challenges in a language the enterprise could act on."
05
PE Advisory
PE firms can model the financials. What they can't model is what they're actually buying: what it will take to run it and how it affects the people inside after the close.

"I tell PE operators what their deck can't show them."
